If I were a giant, I could reach up into the sky,
And take down all the stars, to put a twinkle in your eye.
It could begin with a spark, and I could watch it grow,
Sometimes wonderfully fast, others painfully slow,
Through the fun filled highs to the desperate lows,
I would water you with love, because you would be my rose.

But as the days become darker, and the twinkle grows dim,
And you feel like you're standing at the edge of the rim,
When all you can feel is hatred and pain,
I'll still be there, keeping you sane.

Because if God is love, then you must be a saint,
You were always there with a halo so faint,
If somebody ever tried to take it away,
Then they would still be trying to this very day.

If I were a vampire, I could make you feel cold,
And bite you on the neck, so you never grew old.
I could fly you away, and we could make a fresh start,
But I would miss the quiet beating of your tender heart.

We could love forever, and never die,
But what would happen to the twinkle in your eye?
Your body would be as cold as ice,
Your hands would grip me like a vice.
Your eyes would be frosted over and cold,
And all of that just so we couldn't grow old.

So I think it would be best if I just stayed as me,
So I could live like a human, alongside your beauty.
So we could grow old and die together,
Riding out this cold and stormy weather.
